At Ophir-Spiricon, we realize that our customers are the lifeblood of our company. To help you minimize the costs of maintaining equipment, we have put into place many features of our services to support your goals.
Perhaps most important to you, the pricing for recalibrations over the past 5 years has increased by only 10% for power meter products and has decreased by 9% for our beam profile recalibrations. This has resulted in effectively static recalibration pricing, despite several remarkable improvements to the overall customer experience over the last several years. The timeline below covers many of the achievements and the timeframe of these improvements.
The Perpetual Lifetime Warranty allows customers to extend the warranty period of their product by one year as long as the equipment is sent in for its recommended annual recalibration. The result is decreased cost of ownership for you, our customers. Perpetual Lifetime Warranty.
Supplementing the recalibration pricing, the percentage of revenue gained by Ophir-Spiricon’s Repair and Recalibration department has decreased from 35% in 2007 to 18% in 2013, as seen in the following graph.
Not only have repair costs decreased as a percentage of total revenue, they have, and continue to, decrease relative to the cost of purchase price for individual units. We have instituted a policy of not charging more than 60% of the cost of a new unit for any repairs needed. This translates into limits on the costs to maintain equipment purchased from Ophir-Spiricon. We believe that this policy aligns us with your best interests, and is a policy that is not offered anywhere else.
Other measures that have limited repair costs are the development of an education program for our customers. This helps prevent unnecessary damage and mishandling of units by providing damage avoidance brochures and increased customer visits.
