As high-power laser applications continue to advance, there’s a growing need for sensors that can handle greater power levels while maintaining accuracy and safety. The 20KW high power laser sensor is designed for precise and reliable laser power measurement in demanding industrial laser applications.

A compact sensor for measuring high-power lasers

The 20kW, water-cooled laser thermal sensor, measures powers from 100 W to 20 kW over the spectral range of 800 to 2000 nm and 10.6 µm. This water-cooled thermopile sensor delivers stable performance even at high power densities.

It has a relatively large, 55 mm aperture, and delivers a fast, 3.5 second response time. A deflecting cone and annular absorber can withstand high power densities up to 10 kW/cm².

The 20kW sensor’s water circuit is engineered to achieve efficient cooling at specified flow rates with lower pressure requirements.

It also includes an over-temperature sensor that triggers an LED indicator, audible alarm, and M8 3-connector interlock to help protect the system from damage by disabling the laser in case of cooling water flow failure.
