At Ophir, we understand that not all the target customers of Ariel power meters are the same. Some facilities enforce strict policies against wireless communication due to security or operational constraints. To meet the needs of these customers, we’re excited to introduce a new ordering option for the Ariel Industrial Laser Power Sensor: Ariel-USB.

When the Ariel Industrial Laser Power Sensor first launched, it offered a practical all-in-one solution for industrial laser power measurement, combining durability and ease of use: compact, robust, and built for demanding industrial environments allowing multiple measurement before having to cool it down. Its built-in display, wireless communication, and rugged design made it ideal for integration into industrial and other environments where space is tight, and reliability is non-negotiable.

Ariel-USB is designed specifically for environments where wireless connectivity is not permitted. This new variant offers USB-only communication, while maintaining all the powerful measurement capabilities of the original Ariel. Whether you’re reading measurements directly from the built-in display, connecting via USB during operation, or logging data for offline analysis, Ariel-USB delivers the same trusted performance, without the need for Bluetooth.

In addition to its robust hardware features, Ariel-USB is fully compatible with Ophir’s StarLab software, enabling advanced data analysis, logging, and visualization. For customers developing their own software solutions, Ariel-USB also supports comprehensive APIs, allowing seamless integration into custom applications and workflows.

Ordering Option: Ariel-USB

The Ariel-USB sensor continues to deliver the high-performance features that have made it a leader in high-power laser measurement:

  • Measures laser power up to 8 kW
  • Supports short exposure measurements for pulsed or CW lasers
  • Operates without water or fan cooling
  • Features a built-in display for real-time readouts
  • Compatible with multiple wavelengths (440–550 nm, 900–1100 nm, 2.94 µm, 10.6 µm)
  • Industrial-grade design IP62 rated with passive air cooling
  • Compact footprint for space-constrained environments
  • Seamless integration with StarLab software for advanced data analysis
  • Supports APIs for integration with customer-developed software

Ariel is available in both Bluetooth and USB configurations, supporting a range of industrial laser applications, for example additive manufacturing, metal processing and others.
