|Rayleigh Q factor
The Rayleigh Q factor is a measurement of how accurate the measurement is likely to be. The instrument is required to measure at least 1 Rayleigh range on either side of the beam waist. The Q Factor tells how much more than that it can measure. If it can measure 1 extra Rayleigh range on both sides then it has a Q Factor of 1. If it can measure only exactly 1 Rayleigh range on both sides then the Q Factor is 0 and so on.
