ISO 9001 and other quality standards frequently require annual calibrations to verify performance. If you are making "accept or reject" decisions based on measurements from your Photon profiler, calibration is very important. Photon recommends an annual calibration with a preventive maintenance review on all its beam profilers, most especially the scanning-slit profilers (NanoScan and BeamScan) and the goniometric radiometers (LD 8900, LD 8900R). Calibration involves performing a detailed evaluation of all functions of your system's components, including cables. It also includes verification of beam measurements over the course of extended runs.
It generally takes about 2-3 weeks to complete a thorough preventive maintenance (P.M.) and calibration.
Calibration fees vary, depending on the system and customer location if not in the U.S.
Once Ophir-Spiricon issues you an RMA number, we will send you packaging instructions to safely return your system. Please send the entire system (scan head and controller/electronics card). Sending only the scanhead will cause delays because a proper calibration involves the entire system.
