Here&#8217;s how you can make it happen quickly and easily:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you have a laser Power Meter which has RS232 communication, then a command and response protocol with a Linux machine is the simplest way to integrate into your OEM application.<br \/>\nIn such a case there is no dependence on which operating system is being used on the other side.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/laser\/register.php?item=Ophir%20User%20Commands\">User Commands manual<\/a>, is all that you need to get your RS232 applications up and running: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/laser\/register.php?item=Ophir%20User%20Commands\">User Commands<\/a>\u00a0contains an alphabetical listing and detailed description of all commands available with the RS232-talking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/nova-2-power-meter\">Nova-II<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/vega-power-meter\">Vega<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/starbright-power-meter\"> StarBright<\/a> meters.<\/p>\n<h3>So, what&#8217;s new?<\/h3>\n<h3><a --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 343\/193;\" \/><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Well, here&#8217;s where it gets interesting &#8230;We have recently developed an <strong>open source project<\/strong> for Linux that enables USB communication with our meters from a Linux machine via the same User Command set mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>The project enables Linux customers to<strong> integrate communication with Ophir meters which have USB communication, <\/strong>such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/juno-power-meter\">Juno<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/laser--measurement\/laser-power-energy-meters\/products\/pc-interface\/usbi-interface\">USBI<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/nova-2-power-meter\">Nova-II<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/vega-power-meter\">Vega<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/starlite-power-meter\">StarLite<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/starbright-power-meter\">StarBright<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is now
