Accurately measuring the power output of ultra-high-power lasers is critical, but not always straightforward. This is especially true for lasers that operate in short bursts rather than continuously, such as those used in directed energy applications like High Energy Laser Weapon Systems (HELWS). Traditional calorimetric sensors, with a 40-second (or more) response time, simply can\u2019t keep up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The \u201cPower from Pulse\u201d feature broadens the capabilities of the Ophir 70K-W Ultra-High-Power Laser Sensor<\/a>, enabling it to accurately measure laser pulses with power levels up to 100 kW. This enhancement opens new possibilities for users who previously may have considered more complex solutions for measurements from a short exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now integrated into the Ophir 70K-W Ultra-High-Power Laser Sensor, this feature enables precise power measurements from laser exposures lasting just a few seconds, pushing the sensor\u2019s effective range up to 100 kW. This eliminates the need for complex, indirect setups and allows for direct, reliable, and safe measurements in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built for Demanding Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 70K-W sensor\u2019s unique design combines power measurement and beam dumping in a single, compact unit, and is cooled using either tap water or DI water. It simplifies test configurations, enhances accuracy, and ensures dependable performance in demanding environments like HELWS, industrial cutting, and high-power fiber laser development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With built-in safety features, real-time monitoring, and seamless integration via Ethernet, RS232, and analog outputs, the Ophir 70K-W is now more powerful and versatile than ever, ready to meet the needs of both industrial and defense sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
