And that means that they do quite a bit of RnD on new or untested fibers.  <br>Their engineers were looking for a reliable measuring device to test the fiber\u2019s modal behavior while ensuring quality and consistency across <strong><em>each<\/em><\/strong> fiber.  The gauges they were using took a half a day to set up and didn\u2019t provide consistent results.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AlphaNOV\u2019s needed measuring devices that could calculate beam propagation, astigmatism, and beam shape \u2013 at record speed and with consistent accuracy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Enter Ophir\u2019s BeamSquared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/f\/beamsquared-sp920-m2-beam-analyzer\">BSQ-SP920<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ophiropt.com\/en\/c\/beamsquared-m2-beam-analyzers\">BeamSquared <\/a>met all of AlphaNOV\u2019s parameter requirements.  It has software that determines diameter, beam waist position, divergence, Rayleigh length, diffraction index M2, astigmatism, and asymmetry. <br>What\u2019s more, BeamSquared can be positioned horizontally or vertically, and can <strong><em>even<\/em><\/strong> fit into small spaces. <br>It requires only minutes to set up and multiple measurements yield repeatably consistent results.  In fact, results are available in seconds \u2013100 times faster than AlphANOV\u2019s previous gauges.
