11.9 million NIS Continuation Order for Ophir.


The order delivery is planned for completion by the end of 2006. This order follows a previous one by the same customer, for 6.2 million NIS, which for the most part has already been delivered.

Ophir Optronics Ltd. announced today that it has received a continuation order for 11.9 million NIS for optical lens assemblies which will be integrated, through its US subsidiary, Ophir Optics, Inc., with the thermal-imaging night-vision systems of its US customer.

The order was placed by a leading defense systems contractor in the US, and is intended for use by the US Army.

The order delivery is planned for completion by the end of 2006. This order follows a previous one by the same customer, for 6.2 million NIS, which for the most part has already been delivered.

Ophir CEO, Yaacov Zerem, stated: "this continuation order is indicative of our customers' trust in the quality of the Company's products and in the continued accelerated entrance into the US defense market, which is the main world market for thermal-imaging night vision systems.”

Zerem added: “The US subsidiary is a productive company established in 2003 following a strategic decision to enter the US defense market, which, due to US government restrictions is of limited access to companies manufacturing outside the US.”
