The previous order for 6.2 million NIS, received in July of last year, has mostly been delivered. Ophir states that the continuation order is indicative of its continued accelerated entrance into the American defense market, which is the main world market for thermal-imaging night vision systems.
By the beginning of March, Ophir Optronics, which develops, manufactures and markets components and optical lens assemblies as well as laser measurement equipment, had an order backlog of 16.2 million dollars. Ophir's income for 2005 was 200 million NIS and its profit reached 26.6 million NIS. In 2004, Ophir showed a profit of 9.2 million NIS and an income of 153 million NIS. After a 4 percent increase in its shares since the beginning of the year, Ophir was traded for 308 million NIS.
