Ophir Optronics received a continuation order of 11.9 million NIS from a US client

Ophir Optronics Ltd., which develops products for the electro-optical systems market, reported today that its US subsidiary, Ophir Optics Inc., received a continuation order from a leading defense systems contractor in the US.
According to the Company’s statement, the order amounts to 11.9 million NIS. The order is for optical lens assemblies, which will be integrated with the American contractor's thermal-imaging night vision systems.
In July 2005, Ophir reported the initial 6.2 million NIS order, the majority of which has already been delivered. The current order is planned for delivery by the end of 2006.
At the end of last year, Ophir showed a net profit of 26.6 million NIS, a sharp increase of 189% in comparison to 2004.
Ophir Optics Inc. was established in 2003 following a strategic decision to enter the American defense market, which, due to US government restrictions, is of limited access to companies manufacturing outside the US.
