|
The BA500 is a comprehensive laser beam
analysis system for pulsed industrial Nd:YAG and Diode lasers for
monitoring all important laser beam parameters so as to obtain reproducible
laser cutting/welding process results.
The BA500 measures average power, energy per pulse, spatial beam profile
and temporal beam profile. All these quantities can be recorded in
digital form for storage and analysis.
The BA500 is a self contained system, which is tailored for industrial
Nd:YAG or Diode systems. There is no need for the user to add any
beam modifying beam splitters, attenuators or other components on
his own. The low profile system easily fits into typical installations
and is designed for vertical laser beams. The user only has to remove
the focusing lens, place the BA500 under the parallel beam and it
is ready to measure.
On site training is available to get the maximum use from the diagnostic
capability of the BA500.
For those users needing to measure only the beam profile and power
of industrial lasers, model BA100 is available. The BA100 is also
useful for looking at focal spots since the object plane is outside
of the unit at the top of the input flange. The BA100 passes approximately
95% of the beam thru so the user must provide a beam dump underneath
or alternatively buy a slim profile matching power meter from Ophir
Optronics to go with it.

Notes:
| (a) |
The power density limitation
applies to any surface that the beam hits. For the BA100, since
the object plane is outside the instrument, focal spots of much
higher power density can be imaged as long as the power density
limit on the optical surfaces is not exceeded. For the BA100,
in addition to the power and power density rating of the BA100
itself, the user must provide for an appropriate beam stop for
the total power since most of the beam passes through. |
| (b) |
The BA500 and BA100
will not resolve pulses of energy below 100mJ unless the pulse
rate is high. If the energy deposited in 1/50th of a second
exceeds 100mJ, then the unit will be able to show the pulses
even though the individual energies are below 100mJ. |
