New Detector Measures
Extreme Laser Power/Energy Densities
Wilmington, MA, August 2004
Ophir Optronics,
Inc., an international leader in laser measurement equipment, announces
the release of the Model 30(150) A-SV Volume absorbing detector head.
The Model 30(150) A-SV is intended to be used for very hard to measure
beams that have extremely high power and energy density.
The Model 30(150)A-SV's damage threshold for power density
is 100KW/cm² and its damage threshold for energy density for ns pulses
is 1J/cm², makes it the ideal meter to handle concentrated laser
beams that previously could not be measured. It can measure up to 30W
continuously and 150W intermittently. The Ophir Model 30(150)A-SV detector
is designed with an extremely high damage threshold for average power
and single pulses.

Additional features of the Ophir Model 30(150)
A-SV include a spectral range of 0.19 - 12µm; a power range
of 50mW-150W; and an energy range of 50mJ-200J.
Ophir's products are used in a wide variety of fields, including
medical, industrial and research. More information on the Model
30(150) S-V detector head and Ophir's complete line of Thermal Heads
can be found in their new, 2004 catalog or by visiting the Ophir
web site. All Ophir's Thermal, Photodiode and Pyroelectric detectors
are compatible with Ophir's displays - Nova, Nova II, Orion, and
Laserstar.
