Ophir LabVIEW VIs for Dual Channel LaserStar - Version 3.10

The Ophir VIs gives a complete measurement interface with Ophir's Dual Channel LaserStar device.

Libraries for Dual Channel LaserStar were developed in LabVIEW 6.1. They have been tested and found compatible with LabVIEW 7.0 as well.

Note: The Ophir VIs require the VISA library of LabVIEW.

LaserStar VIs (Dual Channel)

	1. Download LaserStar Dual Channel VIs (744 KB) and run it. 2. This will run the WinZip Self-Extractor and default to unzip the Dual Channel LaserStar VI's to "C:/Program Files/National Instruments/LabVIEW 6.1/instr.lib". To select a different target folder, press the "Browse" button. 3. Press the "Unzip" button to complete the self-extraction process. 4. Press "Close" to close the session.

• Question: You specify LabView 7.0 or higher. Any issue with LabView 8.2 regarding compatibility with your VI’s?
  Answer: We’ve recently done some in-house tests with LabVIEW 8.2 and the USBI VI’s seem to be compatible.
  We’ve also had other customers working with our VI’s in LabVIEW 8, so far with no clear issue that we know.
  In fact, LabVIEW usually offers/suggests that it will automatically update the VI’s when opened with a newer version of LabVIEW.

• Question: I've followed all of the instructions and receive the error "1301" etc.
  Answer: Device responses take the form 1.234 (a period distinguishes between the integer and fractional part of a real number). This may not match the settings of the computer upon which the VI is running. For example, many European countries use a comma (",") in place of a period (1,234). This causes the LabVIEW VI to not "understand" the devices's response.

  Solution: LabVIEW allows the User to override the local regional settings of the computer within the LabVIEW environment. To do so
  1. Open LabVIEW
  2.Select Menu >> Tools >> Options
  3. Select Front Panel in the ListBox
  4.Deselect Use localized decimal point*
  
  
  5.Close LabVIEW
  6. Open LabVIEW and run the Ophir Instrument VIs
