For the last 8 years, Ophir specialized in designing and manufacturing lenses for Radiometric/Thermograph systems. The majority of Ophir lenses are design for 8-12 microns, Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) Bands, however with unique coating developed in Ophir, 3-12 micron band is also available. Varity of focal length and F/# are offered by Ophir fitted to different applications varying in image quality, lens weight and cost. Ophir also offer fix and manual focus capabilities and its unique passive athermalization capability, keeping the image in focus over wide range of environment temperature changes.
In many FLIR applications the need to maintain focus over wide change of the environmental temperature is essential to the system performance and usability. The optic and the mechanical design of the lenses will maintain the focus position passively, without power, during changes in the environment temperature between -40 degrees to +80 degrees Celsius.
