Ophir-Spiricon announces the PD300-R line of Circular Photodiode Sensors. Identical in performance to the company’s popular PD300 laser detectors, the PD300-R feature round geometry for easy mounting and centering on collinear optical bench systems. SM-1 mounting threads on all components ensure a fit with most optics. The sensors are designed to detect a wide range of light levels, from 500 picoWatts to 3W. Each device has a built-in filter that reduces the light level on the detector and allows measurements up to 30mWwithout saturation. A second, removable filter allows measurement up to 3W.

Ophir announces the addition of the new PE25BF pyroelectric sensor with 25mm aperture to the BF line of pulsed energy sensors. The BF absorber has the highest damage threshold in the industry of up to 800mJ/cm². This sensor is able to measure most pulsed lasers of wavelengths from 193nm to 3um, repetition rates up to 150Hz and pulse widths up to 5ms. Ophir announces the new PE50BF-DIF and PE50BF pyroelectric sensors with the new BF absorber with the highest damage threshold in the industry. The DIF sensor with the diffuser has a damage threshold of >4J/cm² and the non diffuser sensor has a damage threshold of 800mJ/cm² for ns pulses at most wavelengths.

Ophir announces the industry’s first built-in photodiode trigger for beam profiling cameras at LASERWorld of Photonics. The trigger is part of the company’s USB 2.0 Silicon CCD Cameras designed specifically for laser beam measurement applications, the SP503U and SP620U. These cameras accurately capture and analyze wavelengths from 190nm – 1550nm, both continuous wave (CW) and pulsed mode.
The SP camera’s built-in photodiode trigger includes new firmware that analyzes background lighting and provides offsets, allowing reliable triggering on a variety of energy levels, including energies as low as 10µJ. The internal photodiode trigger also includes a pre-trigger function that predicts when the next pulse will arrive and opens the shutter in time to see short, ns pulses. Ophir has upgraded most of its fan cooled catalog heads to use a more compact and has also modified the power cable connection of the fan to come out of the bottom of the housing instead of the top so as not to interfere with the laser beam. Now available from Ophir is the 3A-P-FS low power meter for divergent beams. The meter, similar to other members of the 3A family, can measure from 60µW up to 3W but has a fused silica window only 7mm from the 12mm diameter absorbing surface so it can measure divergent beams up to ±40 degrees such as from low to medium power illumination diodes. BeamGage is the industry’s first beam profiling software to be newly designed, from scratch, using the most advanced tools and technologies. BeamGage is based on UltraCalTM, Ophir- Spiricon’s patented baseline correction algorithm that helped establish the ISO 11146-3 standard for beam measurement accuracy. BeamGage provides high accuracy results, guaranteeing the data baseline (zero-point reference) is accurate to 1/8th of a digital count on a pixel-by-pixel basis.

The USB L11058 camera is designed for measuring large ultraviolet laser beams. It’s high resolution, 4008 x 2672 pixel format allows profiling of beams up to 24 x 36 mm without requiring reduction optics. Frame rates of up to 3.1 frames per second at full resolution increase throughput and productivity. This makes the USB L11058 ideal for use in applications that require a large field of view, fast frame rates, low noise, and high responsivity, such as high power lasers in semiconductor fabrication.
