Established in 1976, Ophir Optronics is a global leader in precision IR optics, laser measurement instrumentation and 3D non-contact measurement equipment. The company develops, manufactures and markets top quality products that are based on the most advanced technologies and are renowned for their quality and reliability. In the five years through 2009, sales increased sharply to $102 million from $45 million. In 2010, sales of laser measurement instrumentation grew at an impressive rate of 30.3% compared to 2009, reaching $33.2 million.
Ophir Optronics is headquartered in Jerusalem, with subsidiaries in the US (Massachusetts and Utah) and Israel, and sales offices in the US, Japan and Europe.
In 2003, Ophir established its Massachusetts-based subsidiary, Ophir Optics LLC., that develops, manufactures and markets optic products to the US market. In 2006, Ophir acquired Spiricon Group, a Utah-based company and a leader in the laser beam profiling market. During 2007, Ophir established a Swiss-based subsidiary (Ophir Optics Europe GmbH) to market IR optics for surveillance and imaging systems in Europe. In May 2010, Ophir acquired Photon Inc., of California, to consolidate its leadership in the laser beam profiling market.
In July 2008, the FIMI Fund invested $23.5 million in Ophir in exchange for five million company shares and 1.75 million warrants.

Optics Group - The Optics Group, with facilities in Israel and Massachusetts, designs and produces a full range of high performance opto-mechanical lens assemblies and components for the defense, security and commercial markets, including the automotive safety market. Ophir's facilities produce large quantities quickly and cost-effectively, with all manufacturing done in-house. The company uses innovative design and engineering, resulting in fewer elements, increased efficiency and lighter lenses.

3D Measurement Group - Optical Metrology Ltd. (Optimet), an Ophir subsidiary located in Jerusalem, develops, manufactures and supplies state-of-the-art, 3D measurement systems and sensors. Optimet holds a patented conoscopic holography technology that enables co-linear measurement. Sold worldwide, Optimet products are used for in-process inspection, quality control and reverse engineering in the dental CAD/CAM, automotive, aerospace, steel, micro-electronics, and LCD markets. In 2009, Optimet launched innovative 3D scanners for dental CAD/CAM applications. Its scanners are now distributed globally by the world leader in dental implants.
